A migraine headache can cause intense throbbing or pulsing in one area of the head and is commonly accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound.

Migraine attacks can occur at any time and are debilitating to your daily routine. Symptoms may be triggered by certain foods, stress, sensory stimuli (smells and loud sounds), changes in your wake/sleep cycle, physical factors, changes in environment, medications such as oral contraceptives, and hormonal changes in women.

In contrast to tension headaches, which result from stress or poor posture, migraines are generally more severe in intensity and duration.

Our Approach

While medication prescribed by a neurologist may have reduce the intensity of your migraines, they do not address the physical factors causing your migraine pain. Over time, migraine medication will become less effective.

By treating your physical condition, Forward Head Posture (FHP) oxygen and circulation to the head and neck will improve, thus reducing your pain.

Once a migraine headache diagnosis is made, treatment consists of, Chiropractic Biophysics, The Pettibon System, 3-Dimensional Adjusting stretching, spinal manipulation, and soft tissue therapies such as Active Release Technique, 3-Dimensional Mirror Image exercises, Transverse Cross Friction Massage, Fasial Manipulation, or Trigger Point Therapy to the strained areas.

If warranted, imaging such as x-ray, diagnostic ultrasound, EMG and MRI will be used to rule out any pathologic process.

Specific soft tissue therapies and corrective movements to improve circulation and Forward Head Posture are highly effective at restoring normal spinal alignment and muscle movements and ultimately reducing the symptoms of a migraine headache.
