Our Approach

Treatment of a pinch nerve can be difficult. It is important to understand the geography of the pain generators and explore the multiple sites of potential nerve compression or stretch. Pinched nerves can occur suddenly from playing contact sports or turning your neck quickly, or they can develop over a length of time from activities such as holding the phone with your shoulder or sleeping in and awkward position.

Traditional therapies such as rest, ice, activity modification and anti-inflammatory medications often help resolve pinched nerve pain. If this management fails, other more targeted therapies can help.

We will perform complete postural, biomechanical, orthopedic and neurological exam with careful analysis of the joints and tissues from the neck to the fingers.

Imaging such as x-ray, diagnostic ultrasound, EMG and MRI may be used as well. Once an exact diagnosis is made, a variety of soft tissue techniques are used to treat pinched nerves.

These techniques include: Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP) technique, The Pettibon System, Trigger Point Therapy and Transvere friction Massage. As function is restored to the tissue, rehabilitative and strengthening exercise will be added.
